Black Marlin Marine
Black Marlin Marine, LLC was founded in 2021 to provide vessel support services to the Gulf of Mexico shelf and deep-water oil and gas operations. Our commitment to safety and our clear understanding of how to offer exceptional service to our customers while creating a significant economic impact for minority businesses is unparalleled.
The Company is led by Arnold Baker. During Mr. Baker’s experience as the Chairman of the Board of the Port of New Orleans, he came to realize that jobs in the maritime sector are highly sought after due to their above average pay and longevity. Recently, The National Ocean Industries Association confirmed that “the Gulf of Mexico supports more than 345,000 jobs”.
When Arnold Baker decided to make a difference in the maritime sector for minorities, he gathered a strong leadership team. Mr. Baker asked his team to help him identify strategic partners who also wanted to make a difference. In working with his team, Black Marlin Marine, LLC entered into a Mentor-Protégé Agreement with Laborde Marine Management, LLC. Laborde Marine is a company with over 25-years of experience working in the offshore industry for both the independent and major oil companies. Laborde Marine has one of the best vessel operator safety records in the Gulf of Mexico.
Today, Black Marlin can offer state-of-the-art, large PSVs and FSVs to its customer base. The Black Marlin team is working every day to continue the growth of the Company and its asset base while maintaining its roots in the minority community.
